COMMUNITY LAND TRUST

A community land trust, or CLT, is a private, non-profit organization created to provide secure and affordable access to land and housing for the benefit of a commnity and their residents. The non-profit trust  promotes community ownership, long term affordability and economic opportunity through leasing land to individuals who own the buildings on the trust's land. Community land trusts help communities to provide affordable housing for lower income community residents, promote resident ownership and control of housing, and keep housing affordable for furture residents.
